Our Story: The Creed Behind the Canvas
We didn’t sit down in a corporate boardroom to invent a lifestyle brand. We lived it first, across fifty years, two oceans, and the open trails of the American West.
The flag you see here is a personal declaration of intent, integrity, and movement. It is an anthem for those who look at a wild ocean, an untamed frontier, or a grueling trail, brace their feet, and step forward.
Born on the Virgin Frontiers
This journey started in 1976. Our founder was just an 11-year-old kid when his grandfather took him on a sweltering taxi ride from the bullfights of Mérida down a narrow jungle road. At the end of that road lay an almost virgin Cancun. There were only a handful of hotels dotting the empty, blindingly white sands.
That trip sparked a lifelong passion for finding raw, quiet sanctuaries. Decades later, that same spirit led us away from the concrete walls of commercialized tourism and into the protected waters of Soliman Bay. It’s a place where the open ocean crashes violently against an outer barrier reef, yet leaves a peaceful, life-giving pool of calm on the inside. That contrast—the raw power of the world meeting a quiet, centered sanctuary—became the rhythm of our lives.
This Is Not a Rebel Flag
Our flag is a direct play on rock-and-roll history. In 1983, during U2's legendary, rain-soaked concert under the monoliths of Red Rocks, Bono famously ran across the stage waving a giant white flag of peace, shouting to the crowd, "This is not a rebel song!"
When we plant our canvas banner in the sand or fly it from the stern of a boat, we declare the exact same thing: This is not a rebel flag. This is Aquí Voy!!!!!!!
It is not a symbol of rebellion against the world. It is a flag of personal action. Instead of waiting reactively for an opponent to "come and take" something from us, we look at the horizon and declare "Aquí Voy"—Here I go. I am on my way.
The Seven Marks
If you count the punctuation marks at the end of our creed and dispersed, you will find seven. That is a deliberate nod to family history. Our founder's mom always told him he was lucky, and when it comes to pushing forward into the wilderness, sometimes you just have to trust your luck, lace up your shoes, and move.
Like Forrest Gump out on the trail, sometimes you just feel like running. In fact, if you look closely at the opening photograph on our homepage, you’ll spot a lone silhouette running a solo second loop through the towering shadows of the Wildcat Trail in Monument Valley. That isn't a stock photo, it was taken by our founders wife. That is our founder, mid-stride, living the exact ethos we preach.
A Legacy in Two Oceans
This lifestyle is anchored by family. It’s a multi-generational legacy passed down from 1976 crystal shores of what is now knows as the Riviera Maya to the docks of Kona, Hawaii, gearing up for high-adrenaline night dives into pitch-black Pacific waters to watch giant manta rays somersault through the dark with the grandkids.
We are watermen, runners, and explorers. We believe in moving through this world with a clear compass, a true heart, and an unstoppable drive forward.
I Am Good. I Am True. Aquí Voy!!!!!!!
